MSA – Modern Standard Arabic (Arabic: اللغة العربية الفصحى)
is the variety of standardized, literary Arabic taught in school in Arab countries and at language institutes and universities all over the world. Western orientalists differentiate between MSA and Classical Arabic, but Arabs generally don’t consider the two varieties to be distinct and refer to both as Fuṣḥā (Arabic: فصحى).
